In 2011 Mark Cloet was invited as a Fulbright scholar by Susan Fitzsimmons, chair of the Art Department of the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, TX, to teach, to make art and to prepare a show. The book is the report of this experience, which turned out to be memorable. Essays, penned by writers from different backgrounds, reflect on aspects of the art and events produced during the stay of the artist and its impact on the public. One of the essays, subtitled "An Allegorical Manifesto", is of the hand of the artist himself, while his wife, Janna Huyghe contributes with a full photographic documentary of the residency. Her photos, as well as the lay-out and printing of the book, make it a beautiful object for the eye and the hand. Edited by J. L. Siesling, it was published by the UTPA Press, Edinburg, TX and MER. B&L, Ghent, Belgium.
